If an intimate image or video of you is on prompted and you didn't agree to it being shared, we will take it down. This includes AI-generated or edited images ("deepfakes"). You don't need a prompted account to ask.
What we remove
Intimate or sexually explicit images and videos of a real, identifiable person that were published without that person's consent, whether real or computer-generated. Anything like this also breaks our community rules, so reporting it in the app works too.
How to ask for removal
Email us with the subject "Take It Down request". You can make the request yourself, or someone you've authorized can make it for you. Please include all four of these so we can act on it straight away:
- Your signature. Typing your full name counts as an electronic signature.
- Where the image is. A link, the username that posted it, or a description detailed enough for us to find it.
- A short statement that you believe in good faith the image was shared without your consent, plus anything that helps us see that.
- How to reach you, such as an email address or phone number.
What happens next
- We remove the image from prompted as soon as we can, and within 48 hours of receiving a valid request.
- We also look for and remove identical copies on prompted.
- We may keep a secured copy where the law requires us to (for example, to report a crime). It is not visible to anyone on prompted.
- We reply to let you know it's done.
That is child sexual abuse material. Report it to NCMEC's CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org or 1-800-843-5678, and tell us too. We report it as the law requires. NCMEC's free Take It Down service can also help stop images of minors spreading across other sites. See our Child Safety Standards.
Adults can use StopNCII.org to help stop intimate images being shared on participating platforms, without sending the image to anyone.
