Sorry to see you go! You can delete your prompted account two ways: instantly inside the app, or by email if you no longer have the app installed. Both do the same thing.
Option 1 — In the app (instant)
- Open prompted and sign in.
- Go to your profile, then open Settings.
- Tap delete account.
- Type GOODBYE to confirm, then tap delete.
Your account is deleted immediately and you're signed out.
Option 2 — By email (no app needed)
Email us at promptedmod@gmail.com with the subject "Account Deletion Request". Include your prompted username, and send the email from the email address on your account so we can verify it's you (if you can't, we'll verify another way).
We process email deletion requests within 30 days (usually much faster) and confirm by reply once it's done.
What gets deleted
When your account is deleted, we permanently remove your personal data:
- Your account, email address, and sign-in credentials
- Your profile (display name, profile picture)
- Your followers/following relationships, likes, and reactions
- Your watch history, engagement data, and personalization data
- Your drafts, notifications, and push notification tokens
What stays (unless you ask)
By default, videos and comments you posted stay visible, re-attributed to an anonymous "[deleted]" user with your name and picture removed — the same way it works on most social platforms. If you want your content fully wiped too (videos, comments, and chat messages permanently removed), just say so in your deletion email or in your request to support. We'll happily do it.
- Raw engagement events are deleted automatically no later than 90 days after collection regardless of account status.
- Moderation and report records may be retained where needed for community safety or legal obligations.
