Copyright Policy — prompted

prompted respects the rights of creators and expects everyone who uses it to do the same. We respond to copyright notices under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA, 17 U.S.C. § 512).

Reporting infringement

If you believe something on prompted infringes a copyright you own or are authorized to enforce, send our designated agent a written notice that includes:

Your physical or electronic signature.
The copyrighted work you believe was infringed.
The material on prompted you believe infringes it, with enough detail for us to find it (a link or the username that posted it).
Your name, mailing address, phone number and email address.
A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act for them.

We remove or disable access to the material and let the person who posted it know.

Counter-notices

If your content was removed and you believe it was a mistake or misidentification, you can send a counter-notice to the same agent, with your signature, the removed material and where it appeared, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief it was removed by mistake or misidentification, and your name, address and phone number with consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, outside the US, any judicial district where prompted may be found) and to accept service from the person who sent the original notice. Unless that person tells us they have filed a court action, we may restore the material 10 to 14 business days after we receive your counter-notice.

Repeat infringers

We terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe copyrights.
